M3 Halftracks
The M3 Halftrack is the main infantry carrier of US Armored divisions during WW2. The version depicted here, the M3A1 (on the right of the picture) is a basic M3 Halftrack with an additional ring mount (also known as a "pulpit") above the right front seat for the .50" machine gun.
The versatility of the M3 Halftrack leads to many specialized variants. One of the most numerous is the M16 MGMC (Multiple Gun Motor Carriage) anti-aircraft vehicle, with a quad .50" machine gun turret at the back.
